BMR Academy drivers dominate at PFI
June 3rd and 4th saw round three of the PFI Summer championship where both Dom Bush & Tom Lebbon were once again the drivers to beat in Mini X30.

Since joining the BMR Academy both Dom and Tom have been nearly an unstoppable force in Mini X30 for Team BMR. Straight off the back of round two of the LGM Series where both drivers finished inside the top 10 and most notably Dom scoring his first podium in the LGM Series with a second. With eyes firmly set of the LGM title both drivers raced at PFI for round three of the championship to gain further track time before the next round of the LGM.

Round three of the PFI Summer Championship was another brilliant showing from both Dom & Tom. Lining up in second and fifth oN the grid for the final allowed them to battle once again for another Team BMR one-two. Dom established an early lead after capitalising on his front row start and got to the front. Meanwhile Tom slipped back to sixth at the start and began working his way through the field. By lap seven Tom had firmly moved himself into the podium positions and followed this up by setting fastest lap of the race on lap nine. The battle for the win filtered down to just three karts with only a handful of laps left. Dom had lead all the way until lap eleven where Tom briefly hit the front and lead for the first time in the race. Dom battled back through from third to retake the lead for the final two laps with Tom within 0.1 of a second. The BMR Academy duo crossed the line nose to tail to take the teams second one-two of the season in Mini X30.

“Once again our two Mini X30 drivers proved that they are the stars of this class. The key is having both Dom and Tom fighting at the front, by working together they’ve made themselves the drivers to beat. The two of them are both brilliant young drivers with a bright future ahead.”

Both drivers will be action once again this coming weekend for round three of the LGM series at Kimbolton. Less than a month ago the two drivers secured the team’s first one-two of the season at this track so all eyes will be on the BMR Academy drivers once again.
